Dear Marina,
I really want to die while walking, but I haven't decided if I want to die in the desert, or on a snowy mountain. I'd flip a coin, but I think I'll let you decide my pre-planned fate. |

My argument is for the mountains. Dying in the desert, you're most likely to die of heatstroke or thirst. Both are rather painful and dire. Dying in the cold you are likely to die of hypothermia. After the initial freezing, you begin to feel numb, and then you begin to feel warm and pleasant. Also, the mountains are much more beautiful than the desert.

Marina,
Do you believe that fortune cookies can be prophetic and the fortunes real? I guess I'm saying unknown forces existing that can lead you in a certain direction? Is it silly to think that it might be a synchronicity rather than coincidence? |

But the whole pattern/brain thing is really boring and dry, and fate and fortune are far more fun. I'm always on the side of fun, however too strong a reliance on one's belief in the supernatural can lead to horrible things like Scientology, witch burning and sex through a sheet. So grain of salt all around.

Plus, when you fall in the snow, it's pretty damn cozy. |

Should I tell my family I'm going to New York? We're very close, and if some sort of emergency happened, I would want them to know. They won't approve at all, but I am a grown adult. It might be easier to just not answer my phone for 3 days, and hope my plane doesn't crash.
