Computer help

hi everyone,

for some reason my mp3 player isn't recognized anymore, and trying the plug ins/drivers didn't help. Now it says my E drive needs to be formatted. Everything was fine and nothing new happend - just can't get anything onto the player.

Any ideas?

Thanks all,
Rhi

Can you tell us a little more about your player? Does it show up on your system like an external USB drive that you drag files to, or do you use it through some utility program, like iTunes for an iPod? Is it a flash player, or a disk based player?

And do (or did) you have songs on the mp3 player that you don't have on your computer? If you reformat it, will you lose data?

Is E:\ how your MP3 player shows up normally?
Tried another USB port? (Had them go dead before).

It's a creative muvo slim. There is nothing on it currently, and all the files are on the computer or backed up anyway. I tried the other USB ports too, and nothing. Normally I would open in music match, and send it to the 'portable device' option. That window automatically comes up when I plug the player in. The actual error I'm getting is "please click here for the plug ins available." When I did that, it said there were none for my particular brand.

Then again with the "E drive is not formatted. Would you like to format it now?"

I use it for work all the time too.
Thanks so much!!
Rhi

try formatting it, with the computer or via the player, otherwise it sounds like it might be dead, is it in still under guarantee?

Can I post some answers to get in on the round of fake drinks.

Musicmatch should be reloaded but allow it to reformat the player.

Change the player to the "M drive" M for music will then teach the computer to treat it as such.
