Whoah buddy! i'm there!

Satuday I went to the Beergarden in Astoria. That was pretty fun.
It's a huuuge courtyard filled with picnic tables and about 300 people all
with huge mugs of beer. Dogs, burgers, fries at all hours.
The line to the bar filling pitchers can be long, but it moves pretty quickly.

Should I be worried? Is it a bad neighbourhood? Why should I wear a vest?

PS1 in queens was pretty cool. The art is hit or miss, but the DJ there spins decent music and the entry is only $5 I think....

For anyone NOT from NY it's an outdoor dance club at a closed public school, hence the PS "Public School" in PS-1. YOu can hang out and drink & dance in the open courtyard or walk through the whole school and check out their art exhibits. I think they only do the club part during the summer on the weekends, though.

Clubs:
Galapagos art space. It was mentioned on the show once, the place with the "pool of words" where Chemda sang.
-edit-
I wanted to add this picture that I took of the pool of words where it says "my ass follies" because I'm a 12 year old like that.
Crash Mansion. This club is beautiful inside despite it looking like a crappy building on the outside.
Bars:
Route 85a. This bar is in a really fun neighborhood, the lower east side, but it's not overcrowded or full of dirty punks. It's really chill, the DJ is great and the drinks are reasonable.
Lucky 13 Saloon a punk/metal/hardcore bar in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Restaurants:
ChipShop. A fun restaurant. The one in Park Slope is half ChipShop half CurryShop. The ChipShop side serves English food and the other side is Indian.
Peanut Butter & Co.. It's a restaurant where almost everything is made with peanut butter.

Oh, I also went to the coolest punk karaoke bar in the east village once. It was incredibly loud and incredibly fun! I can't seem to remember its name, though, so sorry.

Beergarden on saturday? I was there too... I love that place and am definitly thinking about hitting it up again this weekend. The prized moment of the night?

Stupid but cute drunk girl: Hey you want to make out?
My very drunk isreali friend: Eh, you got herpies?
SBCDG: Nope.
MVDIF: Well okay, I mean if I have too... But why not a blow job?
SBCDG: Sounds good to me.

And with that, we once again realized how easy drunk chicks in New York truely are.... And this is coming from a native new yorker born and raised.
