This thread moves a hundred million times faster than the rest of the forums. I felt like I was just following it, then I didn't for a couple of days, now I don't know what the fuck is going on.

Just jump in anytime with your own ideas, experiences as a cubicle dweller. We're a friendly bunch

Well... most of us are

I actually don't have a cubicle. The office I work in is one big open room, and phone tech support works in the same area, so I have to listen to music (or podcasts) all day to drown them out.

Ben wants to get a scale. I haven't had a scale in the house since I was 13. Because of my eating disorder, it's better for me not to know how much I weigh. I worry that if he brought one home, I'd be tempted to use it. Also, I'm just worried about the kind of tone the scale would bring to our exercise. Right now, it's pleasant and fun and helpful. If a scale came into it, it'd be a means to a terrifying end for me: weight loss. I want him to be able to do what he wants, I've already suggested the gym scale (broken), his friends scale (far away), and having a scale at work (awkward.) What do you guys think? Is there a solution I haven't thought of?

How about don't use the scale? Have him put it some place you don't look (like in that sink counter thing) so you're not reminded about it.

PS, lots of gyms have the bathroom scales on their carpeted floor. If you think that's why it's broken, then you should move the scale to a hard surface and try again. Those scales need a hard surface to push against, but gym managers are retards and think they just work by magic.

And join Fitocracy.
