What i'm saying is that if you're feeling good about yourself you can be good with the greys and aging in general. If you feel like a slug, if you aren't happy with something you can change then change it and the rest will take care of itself.

I'm referring to that helpless feeling aging can give you...that slow slide. I'm fighting it with Miss Clairol, a light jogging routine in the summer and tight jeans...it's working for me so far. Maybe men experience this differently? Maybe later then 39? I dunno...I just woke up last year on my 39th birthday and realized that I am standing at the threshold of something and I could either go frumpy grumpy old lady or sexy cougar....I'm shooting for the cougar with no teeth....young boys don't do it for me.

not enough chest hair ;-)

Speaking of health, I went to the doctor for the first time in about 6 years (aside from an emergency appendectomy in 2008) and had blood drawn. Got news that apparently my "liver enzymes are elevated", so now I need an ultrasound on Monday to see if shit's fucked up. I'm not particularly worried or anything, more like I'm concerned that they "got me", and could just be dragging out something that should've been routine because they know I have health insurance and can get a nice chunk of change out of me.

I definitely will if they say they've found something in the ultrasound. Hopefully they won't and that will be the end of it.

Ha, i don't get that one either, but I'm more interested in fitness stuff then something I imagine is a little piece of tech jargon.

I had the yearly physical for my work not to long ago. I got on their scale where you actually have to move the weight things to balance it, and I couldn't really read it from my angle but I thought the nurse had it on 172lbs.
She says, "162"
I question, "1 sixty 2?"
"Yep"
"Dang, you're telling me I lost weight, great. I was all excited for a moment."

I avoid scales for the same reason as most other people, I don't want proof that all my hard work doesn't appear to be doing anything, but I'm looking for opposite results.

If you want to be really accurate, you can pay somebody with a BodPod. I did that before at my college gym.

Otherwise, there are cheap calipers on amazon for a rough estimate, or measure waist. That's what I'll be using since I'm just looking to track change.

The small pocket inside the right jeans pocket.

That just means you're under eating.

So I'm guessing you guys are taking Creatine and protein powders?
They are suppose to help, my man has to drink protein when he's in a training routine to keep his weight above 165.

The conversation is making me bitter...anyhooo

Have you guys read or heard about this study that has come out of California about the toxicity and addictive properties of sugar. They are calling for sugar to regulated and taxed as if it were an addictive substance like Cigarettes or alcohol...what are your thoughts?

After that physical I later did go to the scale I usually use (at my folks house) and I actually had gained a pound or to since last I had checked, according to that scale. So I just wrote it off as variance within different equipment. It's just that I thought the nurse's scale was telling me I gained something closer to 10 lbs, so my hopes were really raised, then promptly dashed.

I don't use any manufactured weight-gain thing, I just eat alot (eggs, chicken, tuna, brown rice, veggies, pasta, sometimes all together)
