for the record, youse all can aspire to be dEad

I told the guy I work with, this winter is making me nervous. I'm waiting for the sucker punch. Maybe just rain all thru April, who knows. 14 years in NH, best winter yet. He said it used to be more like this and that the time I've been here has been colder and snowier. Run the snow thrower twice.

My '97 Caravan does great in the snow, I love my bEast.

We left Cali in '94 for Colorado Springs. The first major event with snow and ice I took the car in the empty Target parking lot, got it up to about 30 MPH and e-brake spun it. Wife was screaming, kids were laughing, good times.

So I asked the attendant if I could still buy beer, and he just shrugged at me. I repeated it a couple of times but eventually just gave up and bought apple juice (of all things).
Hahaha...

Fluxquanta, They sell beer and wine at all corner stores in Quebec, the last beer run is 11 PM, you can't buy beer or wine after that. Spirits are only sold at SAQ stores. The finer wines and exclusive beers are also sold there. They operate in regular business hours.

Bars are open until 3am and legal drinking age is 18.

dEad, I watched the video, I just can't buy into the Libertarian thing. I am a socialist through and through. Discussions in this forum made it clear to me that I firmly believe in society providing for it's community. It isn't a perfect system but i'd rather be in a community that offers me and my family help when I need it then what's mine is mine go fend for yourself. It is so diametrically opposed viewpoints, I can't see us ever agreeing. I do think Ron Paul has an honesty and passion rarely seen in the American presidential running....except , of course, Obama.

I found that out after getting back to my hotel room. It was around midnight, so I wouldn't have been able to buy it anyway.

This has been rattling around in my head so much. How to express this without being condescending or negative. Then I re-read this and it hit me; you made my point for me!
That is what a libertarian or voluntaryist viewpoint espouses.
You did not say you support the extraction and transfer of wealth at the point of a gun.
You did not say you support unaccountable government entities whose success is determined by their failure, e.g. "We used all our budget but didn't do the job." "Here's more money!" and, to wit, "We're near the end of the month, buy all the stationary supplies and coffee you can so we don't lose our budget!"
Government bureaucracy is a dangerous cancer that always grows and consumes resources in unaccountable ways. I believe people, NGO's, would do better. G'vmnt consumes up to 50% of people incomes conservatively. What if they had that money to invest in their community and their society? It's not the G'vmnt's society. Or is it?

Humbly,

In my 20ties every house party had a cloud of guys who'd all go out for the last beer run, it was like a tradition. I miss those days.

I hate my sons teacher...lord help me, I would love to bounce beebees off her fat rolls for fun

the teacher is an unaccountable bureaucrat and the school is a gov't indoctrination center

Actually

The teacher is:
Low rent employee with no children skills (or qualifications in the field). She has 0 capacity to think originally or find coping mechanisms to deal with spirited children, instead she reprimands and over disciplines and tries to break their will. As far as I'm concerned, you get what you pay for and in her case it's a warden who warps and torments young children. Any teacher who spends 12 yars in the same job and doesn't look for ways to reeducate or upgrade he qualifications and is willing to take the lowest salary rather then go to school is an employee who wouldn't get a job anywhere else.

Her work ethic is to run in to her bosses like the rat she is and gossip about the kids, tattle on her coworkers and bold face lie about things to stir shit. A real quality piece of work there....

You are right dEad about the government run facility. It is only 7$ a day but you are limited to the center where there's space. If I leave the center because of this toxic twat I lose my daycare spot and there is a deficit of 50,000 daycare spots in the province. I'm lucky I have one. If the system were different i'd leave for the year she was his teacher....God Help us if we have a second.
