The show intro is "hey all you assholes." Back in the day they sold the middle finger KATG stickers, and the forum greeting was "fuuuck you" Now if someone uses that, it's invariably followed by an explanation post on how it's actually meant in a nice way. The forums did not get meaner.

I think a big part of it is most discussions now happen in the Show Talk, since there's more news-type coverage now. I don't mean world news, that's always been there, but the show used to be about clowning and old personal stories, whereas now it's about what's happening in the comedy scene (which is still K+C's lives). Look at the old show talks, they're all 2-3 pages. Now it's pretty standard to get 9+ page discussions. So I think that's where the conversations have gone to and that's where people use up their "shite talking cache"

I was alot more active, forums and live chat, and yes I was the friendly one.. and like lushrain said, this was the place for us of similar like minds (kinda) get to know each other and talk about lives outside the show.

Agreed also TDO/TDSC were the start of the meetups, and I was happy to be a part of that. It's done it's duty.

Again as with any community or show of any type that grows and lasts there will always be the new 'generations' of people coming and going, that is nature.

As I said above, I have the people most important to me that aren't as involved in the show as much, some are, but some are in my every waking moments and for that I will be happy for. These are real relationships that have been through me for thick and thin, not just because once I was a popular presence around the community.

As time goes on, things change, your lives change, K+C lives have majorly changed. I like to see how things evolve.

In other forums, I've seen how things change. Original members leave for some reason or another and it feels like the new kids are ... kids. Eventually you move on too. Sometimes you go back for that nostalgic feeling, if the forums still exist.
Friendships you made still exist, fire up ICQ or MSN/AIM and maybe theyre still on there. Maybe you can find the hard core people on facebook on a fan page.

KATG has evolved.

ok let me clarify a few things.

The Slampokes case was just a tiny bit of a whole wave. it has been named cause its recent and it was pretty much in the open. i honestly dont have an opinion on it and on who was right. I did back then but many of my views changed. Still, whatever one's stance is on it, it showed a good example of a person who got seriously and emotionally involved in the idea of the KATG community then afetr an accident, was hurt, or scared, or whatever, so badly that she decided to disappear and go into hiding. And how while some of the reaction against her was limited to discussion, i know for a fact that it got worse and mor eunpleasant than that.

I dont know and honestly i dont really care if she deserved it, looked for it or not.

what im saying here is that it shows very well how the level of destructiveness of the KATG community is high. This isnt a "Team hater"
thing anymore.

And while i do not want to name names, theres more cases that didnt happen publically, but were quite weird and sad.

People who i met personalle and loved the community so much that they considered it a family and tried to sèpread the word about it at any chance they got but were so mangled by it , and by some poeple they considered friends, that they had to disappear and never come back

Others who were part of the core of the community and handled meetups and promotions, that supporeted the show so much that it became a part of their lives, but were attacked for idiotic reasons and cast out cause there were new, more popular faces around

Perople who moved countries and bet their whole lives for things connected to the community made strong choices and then had to go back ruined and scarred cause the reality of the KATG family and of the good friends of the forums wasnt true.

All happened in the back, without nobody being allowed to speak about it because right now the community is either a bunch of people who have no connections and simply like to sdtir shit or a few untouchables that would have evryone on their side even if they acted like total shitbags.

Honestly, the closest friends i made here all ran away or listen to the sahow, but shudder whenever the "community" is mentioned cause theiur own experience soured them so much, they donty ever want to hear about it again

and i repeat, all has NOTHING to do with the nshow, the break up, or whatever. there has been a decrease in actual tightness and friendliness here that has ruined a lot of it for everybody. me included.

i considered that option too, but they seem to kinda play on that on air. i think there was a whole series of tensions going on that havent surfaced.

And it wasnt out of loyalty to Danny either, cause, just to point out, Myka left Comical Radio too and has a regular job now.

i thought the weirder aspect of it, is how quickly everyone seem to get over it (i mean the audience) and just decided almost unanymously that she was a bad person.

I think she made her choice not out of loyalty to either party, but because she disagreed with how K&C were handling it. She felt like she had been given an ultimatum (never promote your main project, or never be on this show). And, being forced to choose a side, she chose the side that didn't force her to make that choice.

People got over it because we had a minute to calm down. I was pissed when that happened. I felt like K&C were destroying their friendships because they were fixated on a childish rivalry. I still think it's a destructive way to behave now, but I'm not concerned so much about the choices K&C make - it's their show, and they have a much more successful radio show than I have, so maybe I'll just let them make the "show hosts/producers" decisions, and I'll make "audience member/Awesome guy" decisions.

Junk to me it seemed like the general attitude people had towards the Myka incident was that it was more of a temporary thing, like "Myka will come around" or something. Also I dont think that people unanymously thought that she was a bad person, I think they just thought she was incorrect.

i dont know the specifics, it has been talked about on CR but i cant bear that show. She moved to another state and its a non-comedy thing, thats all i know.

look at the show threads. at first thats how it went down. the second one completely went in the opposite direction and it was a series of tirades against her, whoever supported her and all. with no actual facts backing those theories, cause honestly, the whole thing wasnt really addressed on the show. All i know is that they had a fallout, that allegedly had to do with her not being able to promote comical radio on air and thats it. And still i feel there was more to it, especially if you hear her older shows.

She was really in a great relationship with Chemda and keith, the whole thing was way too abrupt to be only about Comical Radio (considering that she dropped from that too).

And that is fine to me. But i also noticed that whwnever anyone brings up the topic on the show threads, they get attacked. suddenly myka is a villain. theres no grey anymore.

But usually keyboard elitism over guitarists has nothing to do with that:

1. Keyboardists can read sheet music
2. Keyboardists know when a guitar is in tune (never)
3. Keyboardists know about the OTHER direction you can turn the volume knob on a guitar amp
