Judging by my chat logs with hellbent as he was hosting, that was six hours of Diablo II fun. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Even though the Sunday game is now over, I figure we can still use this thread to see if anyone's up for smaller games. Just post when you want to play.

If you don't already have Diablo II but want to join in the fun, here's a happy fun guide!

You can get Diablo II and it's expansion for a mere $5.45 on digital download worldwide:

1. Hellbent found this link which will instantly give you a working CD key for Diablo II and it's expansion for $5.45 via paypal.
   
2. After that, go here, create an account and register your CD Keys (all fast and easy processes) to download Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction expansion from Blizzard.
   
3. Once downloaded, your installation cd key is in your Blizzard account, under 'games' (click 'view game key').
   
4. ????
   
5. PROFIT!

This works, I just did it.

Ventrilo, or (vent for short) is a voice communication program. it will allow us to talk in game and co-ordiante our bullshit.

Resolution and running in a window.

Since Diablo II is an oldish game, it runs in a low resolution. There's no way of upping this beyond 800x600 without using a hack and getting kicked from battle net but you can run it in a window.

Just create a shortcut for the game, right click, click properties and add -w to the end of the target field. eg "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w

they dont provide a download tho, so you'll have to beg/borrow/steal a cd to install the game.
or download it from blizzard apparently.

Hmmm, I'm very tempted here.
I almost got back into playing Diablo 2 a few months back when I came across the cd case for it.
Unfortunately when I open the case only disk 1 and 3 were inside it and no sign of the manual with the cd key.
I'll need to see if I can find a friend with the missing disk.

Ok, I have Diablo II and Lord of Destruction downloaded and installed using the method in the first post and I've updated that post too.

If everyone who's joining us wants to get Diablo II and Lord of Destruction installed and ready today, we'll start tomorrow. Anyone else can join us later.

I downloaded the game, expansion, and patch, installed correctly, but now its asking for the CD--I don't have the damn CD! I mounted everything but it keeps asking! Whatnow?
