I finally gave Diet Coke up
I am a diet coke addict. But I finally gave it up 6 weeks ago. My motivation was listening to the story about how is the diet coke why were the ones that were most replaced.
The worst part about giving it up was the headaches. Those are all over, and I feel much better now. I still drink a large cup of Sprite Mi.xed with lemonade. However, that's only when I'm driving long distances for work. And yes I pee a lot. Thank y'all, Adam from Georgia |

This is what constitutes news? It's an article about the liquid intake of one person. How about they write about what Jack Johnson of Memphis, TN eats for lunch next?

He doesn't get the headaches drinking it. Like big diet soda drinkers that quit, he got the headaches when he stopped.
That's interesting that no other soda has that affect... A little interesting... "Great taste. No calories. Wholesome ingredients. How could you drink too much?" said Diana Garza, the communications director of Coca-Cola North America. |

You just refuse to believe that aspartame is proven to be harmless? It would kill you to accept that your knowledge is wrong. Last edited by Astigos; 07-25-2012 at 09:10 PM. Reason: effect, not affect |

Just admit Aspartame, Inc. is paying you. If that's the case, I'm willing to look like a fuckin' idiot by supporting my buddy's stance so that he can make a buck during this rough economy.
Which makes me wonder: Are there any problems with the economy? Is liver really tasty? So many questions... |

However I will add that many studies have cleared Aspartame. But I have to wonder why my head is clearer since I've been off it. It must be all that other crap in Diet Coke. I've occasionally drank Mellow Yellow Zero since I gave up the Diet Coke, but my head is still clearer. Maybe Nutrasweet is correct, but then again, maybe it's just because my intake is lower. Could be the combination of the Aspartame and the caffeine. I don't know, I don't care, I just know I've been better since I've gone cold turkey. P.S. Please for give the poor grammar of my first message. Damn voice auto correct. Last edited by Adammled; 07-26-2012 at 03:32 AM. |

I gave up Diet Coke and caffeine at the same time (took several weeks to stop feeling the effects of both). I eventually went back on caffeine, albeit not to the same extremes as I had before, and I don't get the same headaches I used to have from lack of just Diet Coke. It's the chemical combinations of Diet Coke more than it is the caffeine.
