I think not to believe in extra-terrestrial life is kinda ridiculous...but I haven't a clue what kind of life exists beyond our world...so I don't really think about it...but I hope we never encounter extra-terrestrial life...knowing human nature...I think we'd probably fuck something up.

Probably? C'mon now. It's a certainty.

I would have selected "statistically they must be out there, but we will never get anywhere near them". Since I don't care for the tinfoil hat crowd, I went with the last option.

Considering that the universe is still unexplored there's probably life somewherer, but i doubt we'll ever meet it before we fasce extinction.

Statistically, it might make sense for tons of aliens just as "smart" as us to exist....but if we encounter extra-terrestrial life, I think it'll be more like in some several hundred, or thousands years...we find like...a planet with some.."swampy" like shit...hard to explain, because who knows what sort of "ecosystems" and "life" another planet would have...but hopefully you catch my drift...I think we'll just find "animals" and "plants" ...not necessarily societies or "peoples."

We need to get the fuck off this rock before it's eaten by the sun, then we'll be the ET's.

It's annoying that we probably aren't the generation to take to the stars.

I hope that space is more like star wars then star trek, even though the most accurate galactic civilization I have read about is probably Scott Siglers Rookie books.
... and infinite expansion makes it less likely that we find other life forms as time passes. However, it doesn't make it infinitely less likely since communication abilities don't accelerate at a constant rate.

I agree with the physicist in you. Where did you meet him?

Was it Sagan who said "If humans were the only life in the universe it would be a terrible waste of space"? Either way, I agree.

Whether or not they'd be close or curious enough to visit us, I don't know. I suspect Earth would be viewed as a bad neighbourhood.
