fuckign with a clueless journalist head in a few simple steps:
- clueless writer phones him and thinks he is johnny rotten. Doug tells him - clueless guy phones again. Doug pretneds to be Johnny rotten and gives a fake interview - clueless guy publishes the interview on the huffington post. - stanhope tweets about it and the world points and laughs Genius Doug Stanhope - Stand-Up Comedian - An Interview with John*Lydon |

Anyone actually seen him live? Montana is just a stand up comedy void. No one comes here and rightfully so. He sometimes plays the neighboring state of Idaho and he's always playing the west coast. I have this dream of seeing him in Alaska because he talks about that place with such reverence. Having a beer with Stanhope in AK...one can only dream. Also, how funny was that 'gay' rant on the TSA?

Oh. Anyone else impressed by his British accent? It's not the hardest accent to do, but I don't think he's ever done one on his albums or any bootlegs before.

saw him live tywice, in london. both times he was amazing. but the second time was the real revelation.
he was basically working on the material that would have ended on "before turning the gun to himself" but the bits were stil loose and much improvised. the audience got him shots that in the end he started refusing cause they were too many, so we started getting them friom the stage and drinking them. hecklers turned into jelly by his splendid tirades, a guy with a cellphone filming a youtube video got wished by doug "to grow califlower sized tumors on his eyeballs and be teabaggged by homeless people while he gets lost on his way home". instead of being one hour the set lasted 2h and 30. and it was the most amazinbg and insane thing i have ever seen. |
Wow, Junk! That's so fucking cool. I kinda wonder if he steps up his game for his London shows. Bill Hicks always said London, (and the UK in general) were better comedy fans; than in the States. His 'Oslo' material seemed kinda average; so I was happy when 'Before Turning The Gun' came out. It's phenomenal. Also, every stand up fan knows that recording a show is verboten. Good to hear Stanhope unleashed on that guy.

he said he hates london as a city but he always sells out quickly there. i will have to see him again before either me or him die. if you ever have the chance to go at his shows, do it. he is an amazing thing to see onstage and a gentleman too
