Epic Fantasy Books

Yep, I'm a homo and I love epic fantasy. So, I've got two books on tap to read but I'm sure I'm going to need some more excellent fantasy in a few weeks. So, for whoever reads fantasy, I'd like you to let me know what your favorite fantasy books/series are so I can have some fresh material. And maybe we can just generally discuss them.

My favorite author is Stephen R. Donaldson and his Thomas Covenant chronicles. Second being Robin Hobb and then the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson probably. I'm also going to start the second book of the Malazan series by Steven Erikson. I've read Goodkind, loved him until the last 4 books or so got super preachy. Read the Jordan series and loved it until he started stretching books for no reason, however Sanderson picking it back up got me interested again. Anyways, those are my general thoughts and I hope you guys have some other thoughts or good suggestions for me/the rest of us!

Edit: I also love the Darkness That Comes Before series so far by Bakker and I've enjoyed George R.R. Martin but would like him to hurry the fuck up and write another book.

Shit really, sweeeeet.

Edit: Oh, Brent Weeks Night Angel Trilogy. It's a nice R rated series after reading Jordan's PG-13.

Any Drizzt books? I'd be curious if someone would care to read those if they weren't into D&D.

I've read most of the books following Drizzt without playing D&D, just fell out of it recently with the last trilogy. The Icewind Dale Trilogy is a good read, but if you want to start with Drizzt's story from the beginning, you'll want The Dark Elf Trilogy.

Currently re-reading The Codex Alera.

I like Marian Zimmer Bradley but only the ones before she passed away.

Then again, I am a chick, but it's epic and classic to me
