Anyway Malcolm, can I get your opinion on the slow fencing we've been doing in class? I think it really helps.

(for people who aren't in our class): Instead of using speed and strength, our teacher has been making us learn to use dexterity in order to fool our opponent. Fake outs, mental baiting, hypnotic repetition, ext. More mental chess.

Interesting ... I've been thinking of taking up fencing this spring instead of doing caber training. Maybe kendo ...

Its a martial art. I was really surprised how demanding it can be, when I first started out. Its more mental than physical. (as is any sport or martial art)

I would love to take kendo or akido. Both are on my Top ten methods of things I want to learn list.

A lot of the decision for me will be based on schedules and proximity to whatever my daughters are taking. It's so much easier to sneak in a class during some activity of theirs than to carve out a distinct time slot just for me.

It does help me, but she OVERemphasizing it. It's getting to the point where I'm not having fun. I hope we do something different next time.
