Film Club
Idea for a thread/activity/nerdy thing.
1. One person chooses a movie, we all do some downloading/netflixing and watch it. 2. We say what we thought of it in this thread, or at least say we saw it. 3. The person who chose the last movie picks someone who has recently commented in the thread to pick the next one. Sound like a plan? Could be a good way to discover new stuff. |
So....
It's like a book club, but without the pesky reading, and without the bitchy acquaintance leaving me nasty voicemails when I'm late for high-dollar brunch at "hip" new eateries? Sounds perfect. I'm in. |
Eateries do actually sound good though. We have to all promise to eat pizza during the movie.
Should I go first, given that it was my massive, sexy brain that constructed this idea? |
As the only other member, I vote yes.

Motion passed. Great work, club.
As it's been so long since I last saw it, and I'm starting to get excited about moving there, my choice was going to be Lost in Translation. But that would be a betrayal of my true love, sci-fi. Which is why I pick Surrogates. It should be easy enough to find through various means. |
This sounds like fun, I'm getting my hands on Surrogates right now.

Sounds good, im in. I am legally acquiring this film right now, how long do i have to watch it?

48 hours minimum? i may only be able to play this game occasionally as i, like you, suffer from horrendous internet. All my legal acquisitions have caused my internet provider to cap the bandwidth until 11pm so most downloads dont get going until then. But i will try my best :D

yeah the idea won't be to necessarily watch every film, you can hop in and out, but only someone who watched the last one can be picked to choose next film. As long as people do it in the right spirit it could be a cool book-sharing club, without all the words.
