As the older and supposed to be wiser gay in the thread let me just say that Absies pretty much said everything I would have suggested.

If he opened up enough to you to tell you about his ex then it means he wants to talk to you. He trusts you. Tell him you're there for him and just let him talk. Don't offer advice (about the ex) unless he asks. He probably just needs someone to listen. By listening to him then he'll trust you more and you get to hang out more. Like Abs said, "Don't force anything, but don't just sit back either."

And Absies, you are my boo, I heart you like no other. I'm not trying to be Jesse Joyce up in this piece but regardless doesn't need the ir- in front of it. Normally shit like this doesn't bother me but I saw this comedian, Vanessa Graddick a few months ago and she had this really good set of jokes and irregardless was mentioned. Ever since then it just bothers me.
