it depends on the dosage... an average dose for the kids bodyweight prolly wouldn't do too much permanent damage.. because the body is pretty resilliant to one-time extremes... but the problem lies in that it's likely they over-dosed the kid for his body weight.. which could cause all sorts of problems and could've killed the kid right on the spot.

The kid will be fine.

Regular heavy use might (only might) lead to brain damage, which only might be permanent, but I bet they only gave the kid one pill, about the same as an adult taking 3, which can be done with no ill-effects.

You have to take a lot to overdose, people die more often from dehydration/heat-stroke while on it, or from combination with other drugs.

Of course I don't condone what is in effect a film of child-abuse, but there'll be no long-term damage.
