A helping hand for Rhian

So let me preface: she hasnt asked me to do this thread, i did it of my own choice, since shes a dear friend to me and this could be a great way to help her through her troubles and give her a bit of hope.

That said, if any of you has some hate to throw, throw it at me, not at her.

Anyways, you all know Rhian, i guess. If you dont, you really should. she's one of those people that is healthy to know, and has given so much to the community in the past.

She has the option of receiving concrete help at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. so click the link, read and give her a hand.

I've donated and s[read the word to my FB families...hope you guys can do the same. Living in Canada I have been at the mercy of our medicare system. It is pretty good for emergencies but falls so very short for long term illness.
Good luck Rhian, I am really hoping you get the funds you need to get your butt to Arizona!

Most folks know I've been rocking for lupus, 50% of the proceeds from downloads of my EPs were supposed to go to Lupus research. However, in light of these new developments, I've decided that the 50% should go directly to the source, that being our beloved Rhi.

That said, 50% of all donations received at my noisetrade site (located in my sig) will go to Rhian and the RhiArmy page. I'm going to send them monthly checks.

Please, KATG community, take a minute and help Rhian. She is a truly beautiful person and deserves every good thing to come her way. Help her get back on her feet.

Lushrain and I have been bringing Rhian out to San Diego the last two years to get her out of the freezing Ottawa winters and the damage it does to her system. We've been with her before she was diagnosed, her interview with K&C on the show. We were with her through the bad downfall in 2009 and almost losing her (seriously guys, you have no idea how close it was) and watched her fight back with a vengeance the last couple years.

Fact is though, Canadian Healthcare fucking sucks when it comes to long-term illnesses and especially with chronic pain illnesses like fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and with auto-immune diseases like Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. The Mayo Clinic offers some REAL answers to what is going on with her body and possibly some real treatment that might get her back on her feet and living a somewhat normal life again.

Times are tough and money is tight and this fact isn't lost on us at all. If you can't donate anything monetarily, please pass this page on and spread the awareness. There's so little knowledge about chronic pain, lupus and similar illnesses and we need to start changing lives for the better and making a difference by sending money directly to those affected and educating those who may be unaware. Thank you so much for this thread and to anyone who donates even a dollar, shares the page, or even cares but are unable to do anything tangible to help. Words mean a lot and your words of support these last four years have meant so much to Rhian and to those of us who love her.

Again, the page is at JOIN THE RHI ARMY and check out her blog and my interview with her on Uncast. If you'd rather donate via PayPal, you can donate to Uncast.net and I guarantee 100% of your donation will go to this fundraiser. We'll even pay for the little bit that paypal takes out for themselves so ALL of your money will go where it's needed.

Rhian has been one of the most amazing, caring, and awesome people I've met through the KATG family. And I know there are others that feel the same way. I'm reminded of two years ago at April 15th when we rolled into a bar with the normal giant crowd as we do. The bouncer wouldn't let Rhi in because he was convinced she was drunk and not because of her illness. Everyone of us turned right the fuck around and bailed. Because you deny any of us, you deny all of us. Especially someone as awesome and part of this community as Rhi. Their loss.

My point is, this is a community and there is nothing more a community can do than support a member in a time of great need. So if you've had the great pleasure of meeting Rhian or not, she's one of us. And that should motivate you to give.

Rhi, we are behind you and a speedy recovery!

Junkenstein, thanks for making this thread. It shows just how much Rhian means to all of us.

I've known Rhian for over 5 years now and she has been there for me during the hardest times of my life all the while dealing with her own hardships. When I think about the hard times Rhian has gone through in the last 5 years or more I don't know if I would have been strong enough to keep fighting. But she has and I hope we can help her get some answers so some of the pain she has been going though can disappear.

Love ya Rhian, always here for you.

giving this thread a bump so it stays on top. Maybe we can get it stickied? (is that cool, moderators?)

I've only known Rhian for a couple years now, but having her in my life has been a wonderful thing. Even though she goes through her own terrible shit daily, she is the first one to lend advice or a helping hand whenever I was going through something and was feeling worthless. She truly is a beautiful person and a constant source of inspiration when I'm down on my luck.

It was that reason that I decided to donate 50% of my donation proceeds to lupus research. My mom has it as well, and it was then that I decided to give back. If any of their pain can be diminished by just a little through what I give, I am happy to do it. After awhile I had decided to just cut her a check of half my earnings and send it to her to help offset costs and whatnot, because that way I knew it was going directly to help her. (she had no idea, it was going to be a big surprise)

She approached me with this idea and I thought "Such a wonderful idea!" so THIS is where my money is going.

Please guys, this means so much to her and all of us who are close to her. If you can, please do. We need to get our ballerina back on her feet! Let's stand strong as a community and help one of our own.

Donate through the page above, thru paypal at uncast.net, or through noisetrade.com/trainwreckinsarasota.

In light of all the drama going on, I need to thank you for the thread, Junk, and for all of you that are in support.

I am amazed and shocked at the generosity and care so far. This really is my real chance of real help.

Thank you so so SO much.

Much love.
