Lately I haven't been watching too much horror but a few of my favorites are

Inside
- is about a pregnant woman being terrorized in her secluded house by an insane woman trying to cut out her baby. It has a good amount of gore but it also manages to build up some great suspense too.

Calvaire - is about a pop-singer in Belgium, Marc, who sings at retirement homes. His car breaks down and he ends up making it to an old inn with a crazy owner. The owner eventually starts to believe Marc is his cheating wife who left him. It's a pretty creepy movie and violent movie but it has an interesting contrast, the movie has some of the best cinematography I've ever seen. I don't usually notice that kind of thing but it really stood out in Calvaire.

Pontypool
- is a really unique movie that I can't even explain without writing way too much about it. So I'll just use imdb's one line summary: "A psychological thriller in which a deadly virus infects a small Ontario town." It's a pretty vague description but trust me, any horror fan who hasn't seen it yet needs to!

Psychological-thriller and portal to hell in space.

kinda cheesey but terrific opening and some super awesome scenes when they stupidly get lost in the basement.

It's been awhile, maybe I'm not remembering it right. When you say comedy I think Shaun of the Dead. I dont remember it being like that.

Cabin Fever was one of my favorite horrors when it came out.. Probably still up there among my favorites if I think about it. I recently watched Cabin Fever II.. Low budget, and written and directed by a whole different person. If anyone here has thought of watching it, I'd advise against it. It really isn't good.
