I gave in and got some Crocs for my "going outside" shoes. So that's where my life has gone to at this point.

I can understand but I'm pretty sure that happens because your poor wife has already lost her shit a while ago and is sick with worry. You still have to go to work while she is home right? I'd nag you like a crazy person as well.

But feel free to complain about it here, everybody needs an outlet. Safe distant virtual hugs!

I braved the supermarket today and rewarded myself with a burger on the way back. That's the first food I didn't prepare myself in ~3 weeks. It tasted extra special :-)

I'm 100% with you on this for sure.

But no I'm not going to work anymore. Michigan shut down and I've been lucky enough to be able to still work full time from home. So I'm very fortunate that I haven't taken a pay cut or had to take vacation time. So, I don't want to imply that I disagree with her. When I go out to get prescriptions (thanks Apia) or other needed shopping I get lectures. I know she is scared, I haven't lost it or yelled at her about it yet. It's just hard, I know I have to wash my hands but can I put the stuff I got from the store down first and take off the mask and gloves?

Then she just stares at me. I'm like, 'I didn't get close to anyone, the place was pretty empty. <still staring> Do you want me to change my shirt and pants, wash them? and she says "No, no it's OK." but then she just keeps staring so I'm like 'I'm going to change.'

Just tell me, we don't have to make a big deal about it. I was honestly thinking of it anyway but she doesn't want to push it then it adds to her stress. It's like I want a middle ground I will wash my hands I will do these things, I want her to feel OK saying something. I just don't need a lecture and I would like an opportunity to do it before I'm told to.
Am I making sense?

I know it's all stress related. She is very scared and she should be, a lot of people she loves are in high risk categories. It's very much a real threat to us.

My partner works in pharma. He found out today someone in his facility tested positive. He’s freaking out and I’m trying to stay calm. He is worried about what he could bring home to me, our daughter, and by extension his mother who we have had contact with. This is so hard.

I’m turning an event I planned for 4/29 into a virtual event.
It’s for physicians and I have already 30 who wanted to attend the F2F one.

Now I hope they will also attend virtually.

The tech organization is something I can do myself with the equipment from the company. My two speakers agreed to a virtual event already.

One of them is a cardiologist and I decided yesterday that I want to offer her some more money to add the theme ‘ heart disease and Corona ‘ to her lecture. She must do work and research about it, that’s why.
Luckily I can do it as I found out after talking to my supervisor.

Adding to this I am planning an other virtual training for my physicians completely about this topic.

Yesterday I made a top 5 list of the speakers I want to hire and wrote an email to Nr 1. ( I only need one, but can’t write to them all at once in case they all say yes)
Now I hope he says yes.
We are a team of 4 and while I’m not the supervisor I’m the senior/ science college and I’m the one in contact with the cardiologist in our region.
And they are all on board and will work with my on the invites.

So wish me luck, that’s lots of work but it makes sense.

I had the day yesterday off as I have on Monday and Tuesday.
But this has to move fast, so I worked yesterday anyway and will have to on Monday for sure.
Oh well I will just be lazy on an other day.

Im so glad we live where we live.

It’s pretty suburban/ country looking but we are very close to urban areas.

The good thing now is, we can still go hiking and because I know the paths here
(10 years expérience of walking the dog, hiking, running) we can choose those where we will see no other people.

Its very beautiful here.

Proof. All walkable from our home.
