A mask ordinance just passed in my town! I'm really stoked about it because we have a ton of dumb hicks and college students that won't wear a mask.

We don’t wear masks outside here, only inside building where you are together with strangers.

It seems to be working.

I have never seen anyone without a mask inside a public building since the law started.
I read lots of literature about COVID and this seems to be the way to go.

Bear got his official furlough recently, so we’re both on unemployment for at least the rest of the summer. the music industry seems to be taking the virus more serious than the gov’t. we knew back in March shows weren’t coming back until next year. taking things day by day. America, please wear masks or we’ll eventually lose our shirts. i have no interest in taking on another vocation. thanks.

Yeah it's for indoors here. A lot of crazy Covidiots (many of whom do not actually live in town) are triggered. Also they're armed, so it's a problem.

i see people inside the city with masks though it has been more of a mixed bag than i’d like lately. the rivers upstate are FULL of tourists spreading/catching germs. you’re not “escaping to the wilderness,” you’re clogging already shit hospitals. stay home.

there’s not a real good way to enforce social distancing especially at the entrance, bars, and restrooms. i’m not convinced the rash of flu that hit Bear’s staff Nov/Dec wasn’t COVID. his particular corporate umbrella has been awesome in listening to experts rather than idiots, communicating ever changing plans, and doing everything they possibly can to retain employees until this is passed. like, we haven’t lost our benefits.

as far as national touring goes, the local infrastructure for that is gone. tours don’t carry large lighting and sound in the bus. that all gets set up in advance through vendors. those vendors are going bankrupt and shutting shop. even when it’s safe to gather again, the live event industry will be scrambling to reassemble. Bear thinks this will shift touring acts back into older style residencies where a band would spend a week in town and do multiple shows before moving on.

things will definitely be different after this. trying not to allow the sheer terror and enormity of the uncertainty ahead to overwhelm me. our careers are taking a real kick to the wiener.

COVID CONTINUES

I forgot my password for a while, still listening to the show. I watched a video on Facebook today at Dubai Airport they take a nasal swab and test you for COVID in the airport, if you are clear you can walk straight through, otherwise you go to quarantine for 14 days.

Last year I saw a hand held PCR machine the size of on iPhone used to test for Ebola in the field. I'm in the UK which I think now is the 6th richest economy in the world and we cannot check people at airports? I think I might get one for my house and make people take a swab before they come in!

I also think this is the perfect time for the UK Government to legalise weed so I can get into the edibles business.

Fairly certain I had COVID for six weeks April & May then one of my teeth broke and had to have it extracted after the dentists reopened because they couldn't do any aerosol work. Looking forward to saving the two and half grand for an implant in an economy that has been flatlining for ten years (fairly certain before Brexit we were the 4th largest economy), although is a replacement tooth a worthy investment when the scientists are saying we might not make it through winter

Despite COVID I'm loving my isolating life at the moment.

I turned forty last Christmas and I was planning on having a massive week at Edinburgh this festival, treated myself to a flat rather than the usual student digs (Airbnb kept my deposit) Maybe next year we can all hire a mansion a la Peters Friends and say fuck you to COVID, that would be fun.

I just had a Covid test. I sure hope that horrible brain rub produces something accurate.

My relationship of 4 years ended last week and my lease is ending next month. I now have to figure out how to cope and move in the middle of all of this. Unfortunately, I live in Phoenix, which is a total shit show for COVID right now. I was only living in Arizona for my partner's job and desperately want to move somewhere else. I feel stuck, lonely, and scared.
