Wow this asshole seems to have completely memorized the bit and just blurts it out without even trying to pass it off as his own personal experience. You can tell right away he's reading a piece of paper in his head and is just mindlessly blurting it out line for line like a script.

I mentioned this before, but a local (and very famous) italian comedian has built his whole act with chunks of stand-up from Bill Hicks, Carlin, Pryor and more up to date guys like Lewis Black or Louis CK (poor Louie...).
He doesnt only take the jokes, he completely translates the whole bit and passes it as its own, changing topical names with local references. At first, due to the language barrier and the little knowledge of stand-up as a form of comedy in Italy (It exists but it's more in form of characters or sketches), this went unnoticed. Lately, comedy fans have brought that up online and he dismissed the thing saying he does that as an "Hommage". And he still does. There are online side by side paragons of his jokes with the originals, but nobody really cares. I've read a quote on a amagazine where a writer was talking of his "adaptation" of a Hicks joke and how that joke got the guy banned from tv (yep. Ironic.). What i'm puzzled about is: all countries, Italy included are incredibly anal when it comes to musical plagiarism. A famopus case is a pop songwriter suing Michael Jackson for plagiarism and winning (but apparently Jacko had enough trouble at the time to let things go). But there's no control over comedy or spoken art. I think that plagiarism in music is actually harder to prove than in comedy. So why jopke thieves survive EVERYWHERE. It cannot be only a question of public interest.... |

The worst part is how be manages to take some of the funniest bits of all time and make them horribly unfunny.
ugh. Well, his weird lying is also the worst part. Seriously, the first time I heard the KFC bit on Conan I nearly pissed myself. Edit: Patton take some nice shots at the more infamous joke thieves in his previous blog post about this douche: Quote:
