KATG iPhone App Take 2

New build posted, every one who submitted a UDID is added. Minor revisions, changed some graphics and layout.

The latest build in "Picard green" really looks great.

Re. the location of other KaTGers, if enough are on Twitter, then that makes a fairly good substitute - just tweet what bar you're in, and make sure you add katg or keithandthegirl in there somewhere.

If anyone wants to say thanks to me, take a look at my webpage every so often, since the credit crunch hit me I'm developing iPhone apps for a living these days, and you might see something you like.

I suppose that just proves McNally right though - I've got no "real" job, but I do have an iPhone and an iMac!

It won't come in this build, but I worked out safari support for the live chat with michael today so that will come into the app eventually. For now iphone and safari users can hit up http://www.keithandthegirl.com/Chat/...y&LocationId=1 to get to a working version of the live chat. A cool hack for now is to send a tweet with that URL and the a KATG tag then navigate to it from the twitter tab.

I spoke to too soon. It does work nicely in desktop safari but eats it hard on the phone. Gonna keep poking at this.

I guess there's some flash in there somewhere (shakes fist at apple/adobe)

Heres the official. There is not flash, it's all javascript, but safari hates it and throws up a little lego dooder. But oddly enough if you link to it from a webview in an app, it's kinda wonky, but it works. I am going to submit this as a bug and see what I hear back for for now my twitter the address suggestion will get you into the live chat on the phone until I make something better.

ok kinda confused on all this but 2 questions
1 will it work on i pod touch?
2 cant you submit it to the i tunes store and make it free ?

1) Yes, as long as you have an internet connection.

Hypercrypt has returned from the dead and has contributed the use of katgapp.com there's nothing there yet, but I'm going to start putting builds and news there. Once the app is official I'll probably just point it at the official site keithandthegirl.com page for the app (which I'm assuming will get setup).

I have posted a new build, everyone who sent me a UDID is added. The app no longer crashes if you have no internet connection, so I'm looking at Touch users to try that out. In offline you can check out past tweets and in the next build you'll be able to check events. The boot time is also much better.

The app still crashes if you button mash on the twitter page, I'm working on that. It also crashes if you are listening to the feed and lose your connection to the internet or switch from wifi to cellular or vice versa, I haven't worked on that yet, but I intend to. The latest source is up at github.

so i installed it and got a message on the iphone "This application "KATG.com" cannote be opened", a few days later i tried to run it again and it magically worked, and i was butter.

i just updated it and i'm getting that error again, do i just need to wait, or was i not supposed to drag the mobileprovisioning file for an upgrade?

..perhaps a better question is why am i an idiot? to save anyone the trouble: it's cause my parents were conjoined twins(with eachother)
