KATG iPhone App Take 2

First off, this app is tits. So far, the only thing I've noticed, is that while on a 3G connection, the app locked up when an available WiFi connection that my phone is already configured for became available. This is on a 3GS.

That said though, I've noticed that many apps, whether they be created by Apple or non-Apple individuals, lock up on a regular basis. I've never had to reboot a phone as much as I have this phone. Since it affects Apple apps as well, such as Safari, I am not quick to blame the developer since it seems to be any app. Not sure if other 3GS users are having similar problems.

So I can't be certain that the lock is an issue in the KATG app code, or with the OS.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that it would be nice if I could put the KATG app in the background similar to the iPod app to use other features while listening to KATG. I know there are apps specifically for this, so I'm assuming that Apple has that functionality hidden from the developer API, but since I haven't investigated the API, if it is available, it would be a nice feature.

The wifi to 3G thing has always been an issue, I've got some reconnection stuff on the back burner because poking around with that bit of the app is a gigantic timesink/living hell.

As far as your freezes it often helps to do a restore and set up as new phone to clear out any screwy settings.

Yeah, I've debated that, but this has happened since day one with the phone. It's a great entertainment device, but not the great communications device that my BB was.

Also, today is the first chance I've had to try listening to the live stream, but I've noticed so far that the connection seems to come and go occasionally, requiring me to stop and play the live feed again to get the feed. I'm also listening via the PC, which hasn't had an issue yet, but since this is the beginning of the show, I wasn't sure if it was related to that. Have other users experienced that, too?

Are you listening over wifi or 3g, 3G doesn't always have the juice depending on your area.

weird, usually isn't an issue over wifi, unless your internet connection is balls, are you running a lot of other stuff like bittorent or a bunch of other streaming stuff.

No. There are about 6 users on it. The WiFi connection has a direct Internet connection, so no corporate firewalls, etc. in the way.

Got me, the stuttering thing in my experience has always been that your connection is for whatever reason not quick enough.
