The article makes a compelling argument for taking this route over waiting for an iTV, namely that it's more flexible, potentially cheaper, and available now. I have a G4 mac mini i use as a meia server, I have an eye TV 250 hooked up to it and it connects to my television via DVI. the quality is ok but not perfect like coax or sattelite would be.
