Mic help for recording music
Is anyone familiar with Blue Microphones Snowball mic? I'm trying to get comfortable recording myself (with guitar) onto garageband, so I'm trying to find an affordable mic that will actually sound pretty decent. Seems like the built in mic catches a lot of extraneous noise, especially the laptop fan. If anyone familiar with such things could give me a little advice and let me know what they think of that particular mic, I'd appreciate it.

I haven't tried the blue personally, but it's supposed to be fairly good...
There's a sample clip here: http://media.macworld.com/media/misc/snowball.aiff from this roundup: Review: USB microphones Review | Audio | Macworld Personally, I have this one: Review: Røde Podcaster USB Microphone « Jetplane Journal |

Thank you guys so much! Those links were very helpful, I had my wife come in and listen to the difference btwn the macbook pro and the Blue to convince her I wasn't just wasting money. Huge damn difference. And no, I'm not using an amp at all. Just going to hook it up into my macbook pro and do what I can there. I suck far too hard to justify more equipment Thanks again guys!
