Did anyone get their facebook username they wanted?

I really wanted facebook.com/Richard, but that was taken in the 1 second it took me to hit "continue" ....

Did anyone fight for and get something more common? Hell a first name might even be something you could sell for a few thousand dollars.

No.

But I needed more than 6 letters, so it makes sense. According to MichaelApproved.

I actually wanted to take the name "facebook.com/reggie" and I waited for the second we could set up a username, but it was already unavailable.

So I did the next best thing and did "reggieu" first name + last initial.

Today just out of curiosity i tried to look up who beat me to "reggie" and oddly, "your page request was not found"

Um, yeah, general names/first names were not available, Facebook said that. You also can't get facebook.com/chicken or other generic words like that. What really sucks is you can't get one for your pages if you don't have 1000 fans, so I couldn't get facebook.com/punkaday for my new podcast! Boo-urns. For myself tho I did get /first.last cuz I wanted something I won't regret in 10 years...

lolz, like Facebook will last that long...
