My_______

I don't use myspace, but they spammed my email this mornng, so I checked it out. Seems like old news now, but I don't care. Welcome to the new My_______

Oh yeah, and hover over the logo for awesomeness.

I'm pretty glad that MySpace isn't the it thing anymore. I don't see nearly as many obnoxious animated gifs anymore and my retinas are pleased as a result.

I think Xanga was much more annoying.

I never had any exposure to that. The people I know generally don't have anything worthwhile to write.

It was the Myspace for a couple of years where I went to highschool, like ~2002-03. People blogged, but it was also the first social networking site for most people in my class afaik. It also allowed customization, kinda like myspace but much more free, so there was javascript fireworks, snowflakes, blinking text, and embedded QuickTime galore. And not the flash+animated gifs of myspace, but the really crash-your-browser stuff. They probably changed it by now.

I guess around that time I was more into LiveJournal and Yahoo chats, which had their fair share of obnoxiousness.

I used to use it for my music, but it just seems pointless now. There are so many other sites that can be used. I find that it loads FAR too slow (but to myspace's credit, it may be my internet, but it only started happening after they switched to a new style of layout) and it's just frustrating.
