Since I'm on vacation typing this from my phone, I will keep this brief. People who believe pharmaceutical companies are conspiring to keep people sick and not at all interested in finding cures are terribly misguided. This industry is HEAVILY monitored at each phase of development by independent parties that reap no benefit in whether a drug is passed. Plus, the FDA is probably the most conservative of all the drug regulatory agencies in the world. Add that to the number of healthcare professionals and scientists that conduct these experiments and interact with patients on a daily basis and this approaches a conspiracy on the same level as the 9/11-government involvment one.

Yes, some of these drugs are dangerous, but when used appropriately under the supervision of a doctor, risk of adverse events can be controlled and minimized accordingly.
