While I see the humor, it does point out one major misunderstanding people have. Nicotine does not have to be smoked.

I did a cost analysis as for how much a milligram of nicotine costs with various delivery mechanisms.

17 cents a mg smoking ($3.50ish a pack, 1 mg per cig)
7 cents a mg nicotine gum (4 mg gum, 170 pack, $48)
0.03 cents a mg for moist snuff ($2 per tin, 34 g per tin, 20 mg per gram)

So, even if you don't know the technique where you can have moist snuff in your mouth without spitting (or you don't mind spitting), gum is still cheaper than smoking to get your nicotine.

I have nothing against nicotine addiction, personally. I quit smoking because I found it offensive to have to breath in smoke just to get my nicotine.
