FOR ALL YOU MAC NERDS OUT THERE

As an admitted MAC nerd myself I am about to ebay and craigslist both a working 12 powerbook and a 1st gen iMac (blueberry). The original plan was to take my nerdiness to a whole new level and take them apart and put together but I don't have the time, space or attention span.

The powerbook itself is in rough shape; missing Apple key, and somebody tried to pry a disc out of the optical drive. Otherwise it works fine and there are NO DEAD PIXELS. OS: Tiger. Price - I don't know, whatever's reasonable. I'll ship it via USPS flat rate.

the iMac 1st gen, price: Again whatever's reasonable. At last check this item worked but it's a 1st gen iMac. So what do you want? Shipping on this; I live in Atlanta so if you're close that makes more sense. Who would want to ship this thing?

I recently wiped my iBook G4 to clean it and am now trying to reinstall. I realised that I had lost install disc 2 when my computer asked for it. I ordered the new install disc, but it is all one disc now. When I start my computer it goes straight to the Installer screen and asks for install disc 2 and refuses the new all-in-one disc as a substitute. Is there a way that I can override the installation process and use the new install disc? Some magic combination of buttons? I tried starting it in Safe Mode, but the Installer overrides that request.

I put a new 500 gb drive in my MacBook 1.1 in Feb. Used an external drive to save everything, then loaded all of it back. Worked great.

My iPhone 3G was being a bastard (jail broken and unlocked on 4.0 T-Mo) and yesterday pwnage 4.1 was released. I restored to pwnage 4.1 and ultra snowed and WOW is it awesome. Like a new phone again.

Sadly since we got a new Belkin Play router, torrents have been un-downloadable. Dexter fail.

I have a G4 DESKTOP that I need to make wireless. Anyone know what I can do? I bought a 3rd party PCI card but of course it is not supported even though the software exists. Not many people seem to want to do this so I'm having a hard time finding info.

Ok quick question for the Mac gods and goddesses

How do I open and/or convert .dwl files?

They are files that can be found on a video game DVD. Specifically the files are for ambient sounds that I wanted to use for a nerdy Star Wars project. Problem is...I have no way to open the files.

I suppose I could bootcamp and run the files in Windows but I'm too cheap to buy a Windows OS.

Thanks in advance for any help

I'm not really familiar with trying to rip those so take this with a grain of salt and a search on that file type didn't pull up jack except for some references to the old DVD copying software back in the day.

You may have to exploit the analog loop with SoundFlower and MTCoreAudio to redirect the audio into Audacity or GarageBand and record it there in a format you can use.

I'll check with our video editor at work and see if he has any tips.

Thanks. I was thinking I might have to do some "fudging" with another program. I run soundtrack pro and Cool Edit Pro (oldie but a goodie) but I'll try Garageband as well.

Can't Watch Porn - Need Help ASAP!

I have an old macbook, like a 2005, but it has served me faithfully. I recently upgraded to OSX 10.6.8 to squeeze a few more years out of her. Well, things were going ok, until a couple days ago my macbook crashed while watching a vid on youtube. Next it crashed while watching hulu. Now it crashes about 10 seconds after I start any video. Yup, you guessed it, I can't even watch porn anymore! I had no idea what was up until someone suggested I open activity monitor while watching a video. Lo and behold, this is what happens:
WTF?? No wonder, the CPU is running at 150%! Is there anything I can do to fix this??
