Our legal system is SO fucked up!
This week, I learned that a friend of a friend got raped. Not that "I kinda wanted to but then I regretted it" rape, but getting the everliving shit beaten out of you raped. They caught the rapist, who went on trial. He was convicted, but you know what punishment he got? 48 hours of fucking community service.

I call bullshit. A result like that would generate public outrage and media coverage. So, why don't you post a link to a story?

Agreed, maybe she didn't want to testify. I do think violent criminals are let out due to over-crowding, because of drug convictions. But, I am sure he was just venting and perhaps didn't know the whole story or it was too personal.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let a rapist who "beat the everliving shit" out of his victim walk. Prisons aren't THAT full.
