Question about housewives

Of the people who are in their late teens/early 20s, what percentage of women on the east coast do you think will become housewives and won't have to have careers of their own?

Fuck that. I want to be a house husband. I can cook, clean, do laundry, and manage children. I have the credentials to prove it. I'm waiting for offers ladies.

What kind of crack are you smoking again?

P.s. You would be an awesome housewife, if that's what you're getting at..

Am curious as to what prompted this question.... According to the Census, in 2002 only 60% of women in the United States were in the labor force. Dont know how that would break down by age or geographic location. While I am a believer in women staying home to raise kids if financially able, I am also a FIRM believer that all women should have the ABILITY to earn a livable income even if they choose not to use it.

What I mean is, a girl I know constantly talks about how if her career plans fall through, she can always marry some rich guy and become a housewife. Somehow, I don't consider that a realistic fallback plan, so I'm curious about the reality of it. I'm sure the odds of it are higher than winning the lotto, but I don't think it's realistic enough to consider seriously.

Sorry, I should have posted a link to the page, looking for it again and will post if I can find it. Pretty sure the percentage for men was 75%. Like I said, I dont know the age breakdown so dont know the percentages in school and retired. Since women typically outlive men, I am sure a significant portion will fall into one of these two catagories.
