For the Spider lovers.

Tarantulas are mating this time of year. We went up to Henry Coe state park to see the little creatures...

We have a Praying mantis in our backyard, Iw ll get a photo of him too.

Dood, your drawings are WAY too neat to be team YaHooka.

I'm not convinced.

MG-That picture is crazy! I've never seen a tarantula in the wild. Let's mark that as another plus for nj.

Arc-I'm jealous, it's so freaking beautiful! I want, no I need to live by mountains.

Stjoe-You're silly.

MG, that spider pic is awesome. The colors are perfect. And Arc's blue sky is so....blue. You're lucky to live so close to such a view.

The apples I just took this morning.

Was part of a photography workshop this weekend. Here is just a few pics I took for assignments or just goofing off:

Keep in mind that none of these pics has seen Photoshop or any other post-processing work at all but this is just what I got straight from the camera.

Our final assignment was to use our subject from the first assignment and use what we learned over the weekend to compose it in a new way:

First the original with competing subjects:

And the final with a single clear subject:

Our assignment was to use the idea of "down" but to avoid using the rule of thirds for our composition. So this is what I came up with:

We had to take portrait shots and this is what I ended up with:

This was my little artistic shot of the day at Mission San Luis Rey for our excursion. Maybe it'll help to go b/w or is color cool as is?

The sky was so great Friday morning that we didn't even need a polarizer to get rich blues out of it.

Nice pics. I'd keep the museum sign in color. I like the shot of red. I'd also crop out the fence? line to the right of the multicolored house, and maybe even go in a little bit on the left too, almost up to the chimney. Tiny changes, but my OCD or whatever is bugged by tiny things. /shrug

well if that's the worst you can say about my pics then I think I'm doing OK.
