Thanks v.much.
It caught my eye when i was trying out my new lens in the park across the road from work. Normally i just end up with pictures of squirrels.

on another note....

....I've recently bought myself some reasonably priced equip, i now have a backdrop thingy, a white umbrella and an external flash. I'm hoping to get in some more portrait stuff, my only models at the moment are my 3 little girls and they are not always the most co-operative/willing.

But when they are, i get things like this.....

I would like to eventually start making money from my photography, (not expecting big bucks but a few extra quid every once and a while would be nice)

So for those of you who have (made money), how did you start off?

I am thinking of asking a few friends if they'd let me do some family portrait kinda stuff to work up a portfolio, so i have some stuff to show others as a starting point but i'm not sure where to go from there. I don't want this hobby to become a chore though, that not why I started.

You have a great eye for subject matter. I especially like the pic in the forest. It has really cool lighting, gives it a really moody feel. The only advice I would give is to watch out for hotspots and over exposure. Keep shooting!

Speaking of photography, my pic of the petronas towers is up for voting on a german photography site:

foto-bundesliga · Liga "Architektur", Spieltag 3, Match #52

If you guys click the FB "like" button, I might actually have a chance at winning this thing

Photos in North Vietnam

These were taken in Lao Cai, near the Chinese border of North Vietnam.

I got a variable ND filter that i've tried out today, this is my first proper attempt at some long exposure shots, taken in Cardiff city centre and in Cardiff Bay.

It was a bit tricky in cardiff bay to get shots that I wanted as even with my tripod camerashake was being caused by strong gusts of wind.
