My BEST beer adventure was a huge Octoberfest at my uncles farm house in Ontario. He and his German wife went all out with "Eastern block" beers exclusively. So we had Czec beer, Polish, East German...It was kick ass. They BBQ's sausages, had fancy mustards had a beer tent and a huge bonfire at the end of the night. October in my neck of the woods can get cold but it was a warm sunny day, we all got tanked...OMG it was the BEST beer fun i've ever had!

Has anyone here had a Gose?

I went to a little place outside of Portland who served it. It was pungent but really delicious. Not for everyone, or most people really. It tasted like rust, not actual rust, but the color rust, if it had a flavor that was different than actual rust, if that makes any sense. Like rust color + flowers.

I'm from Cologne so my heart is set on a nice Kölsch ...

... but Weizen is pretty nice, Hoegaarden is lovely and nothing beats a Radler/Shandy in Summer!
