Because she can believe that shit all day long, I disagree, so what? The Federal Gov't doesn't and should have any k -12 schools that it dictates curriculum for, so it may be a principle of hers, but it doesn't have anything to do with the Presidency as defined by the Constitution.

^ This guy knows what he's talking about. Obama's ideas about tariffs and trade are actually stealth taxes on the lower class. I'm not going to stay up to write all out tonight, but the tariffs on athletic shoes are a classic example.

Letting the market operate completely freely is only good to a limited extent. Competition in areas such as the Postal Service, Utilities, Telephone and Internet and Mobile Telephony are very limited. It is hard to get into these markets and gives the big companies too much power. If they are able to buy any start-up and then exploit their customers, what would you do? If electricity cost $1 a unit, how would you live? How can you support a totally free market? Government regulation is needed to avoid price fixing (though it still goes on) and protect the consumer.

But I'd rather try and defend my choice with a gun than my gun with a choice.

That makes for a snappy soundbite but I think you're gonna have to do both until neither party exists.

The US corp. tax rate is now at 35%, the second highest among all industrial countries! Raising this tax more is only going to force more companies off shore and push companies away from doing business here. Most of these taxes will be passed on to consumers as higher prices anyway.

It is also very important to hear Obama focus on tax CREDITs instead of tax CUTs. You can't cut the taxes of someone who doesn't pay taxes. You can only give them a credit, which is basically Carter style welfare (that Clinton put an end to) coming back from the grave.

His views on closing off our trade and ditching NAFTA (also signed by Clinton) are insane! His views are closer to Hugo Chavez than moderates like Clinton or McCain.

His plan to force companies to only sell flex fuel vehicles and further drive up corn prices makes me think he has slept through the last couple of years. Consumption isn't rising because of wastefulness. The U.S. produces more than twice as much GDP today per unit of energy as it did in the 1950s, yet energy use has risen threefold. That's because energy use is tethered to growth and the economy continues to innovate and expand. Mr. Obama seems to have other ideas.

My hope is that Obama is lying about everything since even his own economist has said Obama doesn't really believe what he is saying. i doubt he could even accomplish the things you're saying he will do. Everyone campaigns on grand ideas that they know they have no chance in hell of actually accomplishing.

I know, it's kind of like juggling on a seesaw, isn't it. I'll take credit for the snappy soundbite, however.

The free market cannot and will not operate without government intrusion. In an ideal world it would, but BOTH parties want to tamper with it in their own way. The only government intrusion I support is a type of checks and balance to avoid monopoly's. As long as you have the Federal Reserve monkeying with the interest rates like their some kind of god-like figure you will never have the governments hands out of the market.

On a side note, FUCK the Federal Reserve and bring back the gold standard.

hmmm . . . I wonder who's been talking about that pretty much since 1971?
I would say FUCK the ignorant-by-choice people who've allowed this to happen.
Oh yeah, their gov't's already doing that . . delegation of responsibility!
