Mama's in jail

A friend of mine told me recently that his mom (sentenced to 4 years in prison for a series of drug charges) just recently was given $200 on her commissary by her boyfriend. Two weeks later all that money is gone and she is asking him for more. Now on to his and I's collective ignorance...that seems to me to be a rather large sum of money to go through in two weeks, or am I just being stupid? He's talked about putting $50 a week or every other week on her commissary. Should that be enough?

She broke up with her boyfriend and now the responsibility of dealing with her attorney falls to my friend. He's told the attorney to not help her get out and leave her in there for the full sentence if he can. Which led to another tirade by his mother claiming that she didn't do anything wrong, that he doesn't want to help his mother, yada yada yada. Yesterday he sent me this e-mail...

I’m sorry to do this, but I’m so bleeping pissed at my mom. She acts like a bleeping child sometimes. Why the bleep do I have to take care of my bleeping bleep mother. She’s the parent, I shouldn’t have to be treating her like she’s a bleeping 2 year old.

What would you guys recommend? What advice would you give my friend?
