Survey-Transgender community and primary care

Hello all, one of my fellow social work buddies is conducting a survey to see how comfortable/professional etc they feel their primary care needs are met as either cisgender or transgender individuals. He hopes to use this information to better educate the health care community. Please feel free to share this where ever you wish:

Hello everyone,
I am coming to the end of my data collection stage and I haven't yet reached a sufficient number of participants for my research study. If you are interested in taking the study or sharing it on your facebook page (or via email), please do. The study is comparing the perception of health care received by both transgender and cisgender people. I know some of you have already taken the survey and provided some quality feedback (THANKS SO MUCH), I greatly appreciate that. The survey link is provided in the attached recruitment letter.

Thanks Again!

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request your participation in, and/or distribution of, an important research
study. This study aims to compare two groups (transgender and non-transgender people) based
on their experiences with their primary health care provider(s). This examination is significant as
primary care provides a space for patients to discuss and address a variety of health care needs,
facilitates connections to appropriate specialists, incorporates opportunities for health promotion
and early detection or prevention of disease, and provides many other individual, community,
and societal benefits. However, there are a number of barriers which might limit one’s ability to
access quality primary health care. This study aims to determine whether one’s experience with
primary care differs based on group identity. Furthermore, from the collected data, researchers
will be able to identify which areas of primary care are in need of additional attention.
This study is open to everyone living in the United States, who are at least 18 years old,
and have the access and ability to complete the online survey. Your participation is invaluable
and greatly appreciated as it provides an opportunity for researchers to better understand how
individuals experience their primary care and helps identify where change is or is not needed.
The study consists of a web-based survey that will likely take around 15 minutes to
complete. Participation is voluntary and may be discontinued at any time during the survey.
Regardless of your participation in this study, please feel free to pass the information on to others
whom you feel might be interested in participating in the study.
If you would like to participate or still have some questions, the survey and study information
sheet can be found at the link below.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,
