I had a hard time around book 7 as well but trust me the last ones have been pretty OK again and apparently he has left tons of notes and audio recordings and told people what he wanted for book 12 so I am hopeful. I just need closure of some kind.

And I think in his case it had nothing to do with not taking care of himself - that illness was pretty unusual and probably could not have been avoided.

I guess it just seemed like lots of fantasy writers died all at once and the one that stays in mind is Dave Gemmel who I heard kinda smoked himself into a state in which he couldn't write. but yeah with more Fantasy writers than not they look a bit sloppy in pic in the back of the cover.
