Team YURP Stranded
Most of you have probably heard about the volcanic ash that has shutdown air travel into and out of Europe. Not nice. This means scrambling for additional nights in hostels/hotels and far exceeding the budgets people had planned for the trip. So, here's a thread for people to exchange info if you find cheap places with availability and so on. In the meantime, Party! Extended Super Party!

As far as I know most flights are cancelled until Saturday but they can't predict what will happen yet and airports may stay closed longer.
I think its wait and see and maybe hope for bad weather as rain will help take the ash out of the air. |

Oh wow, that is really bad timing for you guys...
Apparently some people are flying to spain and then taking trains / coaches from there, but those flights are probably really expensive right now. |

Friends of mine that were supposed to be flying back from the states on the 17th have received their new booking confirmations from BA: for the 27th of April...
Hope nobody had a life to get back to or anything! |

Lufthansa and AirBerlin did test flights in Germany and had no problems so they want to get started flying again.
My flight on Monday is not yet officially cancelled (yet) Last edited by Lanfear; 04-18-2010 at 09:07 AM. |
