Below are population pyramids for the countries you listed. Notice the difference between USA (slow growth) and the others as well as the similarities among the middle eastern countries (rapid growth). Here are the fertility rates as well (these coincide with the population pyramid, do you see how this works?).

Fertility Rate (births per woman):
USA - 2.1
UAE - 3.6
Saudi Arabia - 3.4
Jordan - 3.8

I'm not really going to argue in favor of any particular country, just thought I might try to inform/shine some light on what those numbers really mean (the crude death rates). Blindly posting numbers that are higher/lower without taking into account their derivation, definition, or meaning, really makes you look ignorant.

So, while our death rate may be higher, it's because we have a much larger aging population than the other countries you mentioned, which means we have a higher population of people ready to die.

EDIT - UAE's pyramid is quite interesting, they really had a boom 20-30 years ago, and quite a change since then. I wonder what happened, anyone fluent on UAE's recent history?
