I'm not arguing that this isn't a good thing for people not willing to pay, but I am now saying that if you're a mac user, try paltalkexpress instead, even if it's just the trial period at first.
I've got PalTalkExpress on my Mac. RECEIVING audio and video is no problem, but why pay when you can't SEND audio or video? I did a one-month trial using my wife's PC just last week, but I've already set it to expire since I can at least send video from my MacBook on LiveAudio now.

I think it would be good if they could use both services since so many have paid for PalTalk subscriptions...

Oh yeah, forgot about the not sending tings, my bad.

If they stop broadcasting in paltalk there's going to be a LOT of people not happy about it.

I think that based on the fact that on a Friday afternoon there were 50 people in livechat and there wasn't even a show.. it's going to be crazy on Saturday night..

Right, and there's never been an issue with making fans unhappy.

Exactly. I don't think Paltalk is all that great. If I can watch the 3 KATG cams without my system slowing way the fuck down, I'm happy.

People people people...

It is so easy to set up Pal on a Mac through BootCamp or Parallels. I am in no way a computer geek (I am just a regular every day geek) but I set up Pal in my MacBook no problems, and I can broadcast from my built in isight. I just don't go there very often lately- my schedule has been shit.

Pal is really pretty fun. I know that streaming video in and out at the same time is an issue for some people- I had a crap time till I added more memory to my computer. Now I can run as many streams as I want, no problems.

Pal's resolution is low as it is! Every time I hook in, it gives me a warning- "Our servers are optimized for 320x240 video. Please adjust your settings on the next screen" My camera defaults at 640x480 and can do even higher rez than that. So is LiveVideo lower rez than that?

So, like Kata and Dev, and Darren and Karla, we have 2 fully paid subscriptions in our house.

It would be nice if both Pal and LiveVideo can co-exist. Let's not jump to any conclusions. There are programs that allow anyone to split the feed from a video source to multiple feeds. Keith and Chemda and the Tech Squadron are certainly able to make it happen.

And Picard- "People will bitch either way" What does that mean? People who signed up "To watch us live, sign up at Pal Talk.com" kinda would have the right to bitch. Doncha think? Regardless- if they broadcast in both, than NO ONE will bitch, right? Hooray!!!!

Easy, sort of - but expensive...

XP Home or Vista Home - $90.00
- or -
Parallels - $80.00

plus PalTalk - $60?

LiveVideo.com - Free

jus' sayin'

if i have to, this is a kind of compromise i'll deal with. but i'll still show the benefits to having pal, as opposed to LV.

Paltalk:
  • Look how big I can make Cheese's video, as compared to LV, which has sizes locked in.
  • See what awesome whisper capability that Paltalk has? no separate windows to whisper or anything.
  • You can have way more than 4 videos up at once. like here:

Oh all you Paltalk remember that right? The Finger Dance? yeah... good times.. on Paltalk.
  • Obvs the chat window is much larger, and if you missed things, you can scroll up as far as when you entered the chat.
  • I'm not Jeremy and I don't like making lists. I'm just sayin... the evidence is all here..
