Junk I'm totally with you. I'm retarded for Mass Effect and ME2. Those games are just... so fucking fantastic. I'm making my 5th run through in ME1 so that I can do my first run through in ME2 with my second toon.

... I may need help.

I'm not a huge fan of Dragon Age though. I'm not sure why but I just can't get behind that game.

Dragon Age is hard to get into if you get the wrong character, and it's very slow at the beginning. First time i played, i used the human noble guy and i thought it was incredibly flat and lame.

You have to choose something different and act wildly. The game adapts to your choices in a great way, and shifts the tone completely. It's the quintessential great idea in that game and what's killing modern gaming and making it look retarded. Dragone AGe succeeds because it doesnt tell the player "either you do this action or you die or have a bad bad ending". It says "You can do this. You can do whatever you want. But everything you do will have a conseuqence. A BIG one."

Anyway, as soon as the Grey Warden initiation unfolds, it's one climax after the other. (and some sweet comic relief too. God bless Alistair)

That said, Mass Effect just made me so emotionally broken sometimes, it was weird. In the first one the dialogue with the Sovereign was the single most creepy moment i've seen in both a movie or a game. Whoever wrote those lines is a genius.
ME 2 is just an adrenaline rush. Usually i dont give a flying fuck about virtual charcters, and there i was getting angrier and angrier trying to save them all.

I'm a human mage and I'm doing the whole Dwarf battle arena gig. But I haven't played the game in a while.

I guess I should say that I do enjoy the game but it's just not as awesome as I thought it should be. I have a lot of trouble with the AI. I'm not sure if my team is equipped incorrectly or maybe I just have the wrong team put together but I've gotta figure out why they keep getting fucked to death like unwanted Chinese kids.

My first run through on ME1 I lost one out of my team. The second time through I fucked up my dialogue with Jak and ended up loosing two. The third time through I tried to change it up, sent the wrong person to escort the crew back to the ship and lost just about everyone. It's like that goddamn game is toying with me and I can't help but keep plying it. But it's fun every time so I don't really mind.

The team is weak at first, but if you have patience you meet some really good people on the road. It's not as clear cut as ME2, where you know from the start that those guys are the ones you should pick. It leaves a lot unsaid. I got frustrated too at the beginning but the game evolves a lot if you have patience.

From what i've been told, the main secret for saving lives in ME2 is having everyone's loyalty (and for that you must do all the loyalty missions, and try to stay neutral when it concerns jack and miranda), then pumping out all the ship's resources (mine the fuck out of planets and buy everything you can) and getting everyone at maximum upgrade both in weapons, armour, powers and experience. take more time in the playthrough.

Then at the end if you do that and assign the right people to the tasks (somewhere in this thread, someone posted a nice list in spoilerwhite) and you should get to the end safe and warm.

And then start waiting for ME3.

Yeah I've got everyone's loyalty. I'm just making the wrong pics on the mission.

I had to try out a bunch of combinations before getting it right. You must have a badass biotic for the barrier (i used Samara) and a good tech for the vent (either Tali or Legion) the whole squad thing is super complicated, but it's mostly a matter of choosing badasses as leaders and having everyone super equipped (the ship too).

Anyway if you want to solve this on your own it's better. If not there's many links on google that tell perfect combos. But that would be pussying out.

I am, but I can't seem to get into the multiplayer. I don't know what I was expecting from the free roam multiplayer, but I wish it would give a bit more motivation to do stuff besides completing those challenges or finishing gang hideouts.

Honestly the only thing I do in this game is wander around hunting and murdering everything in sight. I love being an evil cowboy out on the lamb. Lets raid towns and kill the innocent; then run away from the law and hide in the mountains.

There is an achievement for getting a 10,000 dollar bounty. Should be a lot easier with a posse full of evil fucks.
