I wouldn't be surprised if Episode 3 was Portal 2.

There's E3Feed that basically trawls a load of news sites for the E3 keyword and aggregates it onto one page, if anyone's interested.

That's a fair point, they were clearly drawing them together. Nice link.

Can't believe E3 is right around the corner. Praying that a lot of new stuff will be unveiled that hopefully won't take 2-3 years to actually come out. That makes me both love and hate E3.

"Oooo a new sweet game... that I can play in 2012!"

anyone playing Fallout 3, Broken Steel? I've finished up the 3 water missions (Cura, bandits, and Holy Water) and now... nothing left? Or does something else come up when I collect enough sensor modules and cameras for Liberty Prime?

im thinking of dusting off my copy of assassins creed to get into the mood for assassins creed 2, portal 2 would be awesome to see at E3, im still hoping for Nintendo to drop a new zelda for the wii, none of that zelda for the ds shit, beyond good and evil sequel will prob show up at E3, apperently lionhead is supposed to have a 'big' reveal at E3, Fable 3? prob not, heavy rain looks pretty good, so does alan wake, im looking forward to some bioshock2 gameplay as well as modern warfare 2, the one thing that would single handedly blow my mind would be the official announcement of the much speculated Final Fantasy VII remake

oh yea anyone used to read EGM? apperently the original owner bought it back and is gonna start printing it again later this year, no word on if any of the staff that was fired will be coming back though

Dan Hsu, former EGM editor, has been talking to Harris about coming back, but that's the extent of it. Thing is, before Ziff-Davis got hold of it and when Harris owned it, EGM wasn't that great a magazine. There was a ton of scandal around it, apparently.

Scandal? It was a pretty solid magazine that seemed fairly unbaised and interesting to read

I'm hoping for half life 3 and a new zelda game from E3.

Also a question I have been thinking about lately, what game franchise do you most want to see continued? there have been plenty of great game series that have became vapour ware and never surfaced again, what one do you most want to see?
For me Golden Sun and Shenmue need to be concluded... not that they ever will be

That's what it became after it was sold to Ziff-Davis, and before Ziff dropped it when Hearst bought 1UP. But way back when it started, under Harris, it was a different beast.

From Ravidrath over at Gaming Age:
Quote:
Under Mr. Harris, Sendai Publishing and its editors (Todd Mowatt, Ed Semrad, etc.) were largely reviled by the industry. They were known to sometimes "find" builds of games they shouldn't have, and generally bullied PR people for exclusives. While I'm not exactly a fan of the industry's PR arm, either, they are generally honest and professional, qualities generally lacking in the editors of EGM under Steve Harris' tutelage.

There were various plagiarism incidents under Mr. Harris as well, one of which even resulted in a settlement that created Intelligent Gamer magazine. While with Intelligent Gamer, there was also a fair amount of distressing talk about "getting in bed" with some publishers.
Now, if Dan Hsu takes the position offered by Steve Harris, and is allowed a decent amount of control over the magazine's direction, and they can hire a bunch of writers that can actually write intelligently about games, then great, it's an awesome magazine - probably better than EGM ever was if they do it right. But a lot of the writers for EGM have moved on. John Davison owns his own company in What They Play, for example. Shane Bettenhausen is now a marketing executive for a game publisher. Shawn Elliott works for 2K Boston. Jeff Green works for EA. Numerous writers have gone to work for other magazines and websites, and many stayed at 1UP, which is completely separate from EGM at this point.

I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

I'd kill someone for more Shenmue. I'd love to see a new MDK too.
