A PC/Mac version of charming platform Qwak is on a brief pay £whatever you want sale. You can get it here.

Video here.

Heavenly Sword
Recently finished this after borrowing it. At first I dismissed it as a God of War clone and, while it's certainly similar, it does have it's own identity and art style.

The production values are very high, from the score to the Andy Serkis directed cut scenes (he also acts as the villain via mocap and seems to be channelling Alan Rickman in Prince of Thieves) and there's some pretty - if entirely linear - environments.

The combat isn't nearly as strong and does get repetitive but what kept me hooked was the well made cut scenes and quirky ideas like steering arrows/cannon balls/bodies after you launch them and throwing hundreds of enemies at you.

It's short but it's worth playing.

Agreed. I vote to boycott that game based on your comments alone.

I'm super stoked on the fact that after saving up for a while, I've finally bought myself a PS3!

I'm currently playing through Metal Gear Solid 4 and Modern Warfare 2
-I beat Beatles Rock Band in a few hours, on drums, on medium.

My drums from my PS2 Rock Band still worked, I was never that good with drums, medium was fairly simple though...I'm the shit on guitar, but I don't have a guitar compatible with a PS3 yet...I tried singing a bit, I'm shit at that...though I pull off some songs.

The Men of War franchise is 66% off on steam.

Men of War itself is £4.41
The expandalone, Men of War: Red Tide is £6.79
Men of War: Gold Edition (pack of the above) is £9.51

Rock, Paper, Shotgun write up here demo here. Great strategy game, terrible voice acting.

I just bought Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City and have been playing The Lost and the Damned segment on that I also just started Call of Duty 4 and find it incredibly addicting. I love my XBOX 360 and definitely think it was worth the price!

Who here intends to buy Bioshock 2 for the PC? Steam are doing a four pack pre-order BioShock® 2 - Age Verification works out cheaper per copy and each person gets a copy of the first Bioshock included to keep or gift.

The incentives of shopping Steam are incredible. I am honestly impressed with their marketing sense every time I hear something like this - if only Micro and Sony were to jump into a similar paradigm.

Unfortunately though, I will be picking that bad-boy up for the 360. Isn't it odd that I felt compelled to preface the previous sentence with "unfortunately?" Hmm... maybe a new gaming computer is in order?

Any advice on companies to shop with? Parts to buy if you suggest I build it?

You should feel bad, you're steering your character and you're doing it in low resolution!

I'm not familiar with Canadian stores (or Canadian prices) but in PC Gamer UK they built a very capable PC for under £900, including keyboard, headset, mouse and even monitor so it's cheaper than you may think. Their forums are very helpful too and you can even watch them build that very rig here and here.
