What was the last good book you read?

I'm kind of hurting for reading material right now...any suggestions? That last few good books I read were Ancestor by Scott Sigler, The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson.

I read mostly historical/factual/relatable material, so very little fiction; when I do, I'm highly scrutinizing.

Hi Danny....

here are a few books i read that you might be interested in...

1) Gone by Michael Grant (next book: hunger & a third is coming out)

2) The Hunger Games (It is a trilogy. 2 out of the 3 are out... Last one to come out in a few months)

3) The Morganville Vampire Series by Rachel Craine

4) The Host by Stephane Myers

5) Mortal Instruments Trilogy by Cassandra Claire

6) You Suck.. (2nd book is Love Bites) by Christopher Moore

And last but not least, depending on your views of reilgion, this book might be of interest to you:

god is not great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens

If you can get past the fact that he's an atheist (which seems to be becoming a religion unto itself) it really sheds light on the hypocicy of religion

I also read ALOT of vamp/witch/fairie/shape shifters, etc books if you are interested in some of those

Let me know if that helps & if you do choose any, what you thought of them :)

Like a whole book? It's been a long time since I read all of a book.
I read the first 60 pages of The Hambledown Dream which was very good.

Just had to read a bunch over the summer, last being Double Helix by James Watson.

The last non-school book was Death by a Black Hole by Niel DeGrasse Tyson

In a week, all my non-slacker free time will go towards Michael Artin's Algebra

I'm not really a fiction guy.

Double Helix sounds familiar...

I enjoy Neal Stephenson's work (ergo Quicksilver) but if you have any kind of interest in cryptography, WWII (although the book is technically light on war history and more just uses it as a setting), very basic math (no equations, but it is mentioned), and data archiving, then pick up his book Cryptonomicon. It's fictional, but uses a lot of real technology and theories.

It's about 990 pages, so it will take up a lot of your time but it's easy to grasp and it flows well.

Just read The Hunger Games, yesterday I received Catching Fire (the next one) one in the mail, looking forward to it...

Also, if you are a dog lover, or even liker, I recommend The Art of Racing in the Rain. Good book.
