The Reader
I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED the book and so of course the movie couldn't hold a candle to it. But having said that, Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes work so well together. The cultural regret of Germany post-WWII is really well captured and overall the movie was very convincing. The only problem I have is too many unanswered questions and not enough resolution at the end of the film where there should have been. Otherwise, w00t. |

![]() i saw a one-off screening of the Swedish vampire drama "Let The Right One In" at the tampa theatre last night no buzz-y movie of 2008 has deserved less of its accrued hype than this one if you ask me. which isn't to say that it was terrible, it's just dry and plodding in that way that ponderous foreign films can be sometimes. i liked it, didn't love it |
