C/C+ Pretty much only not a D because of Glenn Close. Christian Slater was too subdued, the son was boring and I was hoping he would blow up or implode under the pressure or fuck Christian Slater. Super slow. Would not watch this is it were on TV B Slice of life. The kid actors are pretty good. Totally identified with the youngest brother. The dad was hot. loved the ending Hated it. The "love story" was hamfisted, too fast and dumb, I hated the CGI faces, they didn't change the decals on the van, the edgelord character (voiced by the guy from Silicon Valley) was terrible. But I read the book and did a lot of comparing. Did you see it yet? And what did you think?

finally saw mission impossible since MoviePass decided to pay for it. About 20 minutes too long. Henry Clavill's mustache and stubble were not sexy enough to excuse the horrible CGI job in justice league but I guess it did him look the very opposite of Superman. I'm glad he won't be coming back for a MI sequel. His American accent bothers me, or maybe it's that he keeps trying to hide his teeth when he talks...

Just realized I have *no idea* which movies I've seen this year. I really need to track this better!
EDIT: So I found out how to download my Netflix history! Wow. I watch a lot of crap... Last edited by DJ Trashy; 09-24-2018 at 09:08 AM. Reason: update |

Ozark on Netflix
Finished the second season. Holy cannoli. What a dark show. But super believable- in a weird David Lynch-y way.
Looks like a season 3 is in works. I’m not terribly excited, (after the direction show takes end of s2. But the writing is phenomenal. The brutality...It’s total brutality. The gnarliest gangster flics ain’t got nothing on this show. Its like a new level of gangsta and it’s legit. The overall ruthlessness of the #2 Mexican Drug Cartel, (trying, by any means necessary, to be #1) combined with 5th generation/ Mason Dixie line redneck outlaws - it’s just something that’s probably always existed but but never been captured this well. Also it’s got Jason Bateman. Who is universally great in everything. Mostly cuz if you LIKE Jason Bateman - great. Cuz that’s exactly who he’s playing. Again lol Lot of great never-before-seen actors and actresses too. The gal who plays Ruth is spectacular. This show is why Netflix could be the next HBO. They spend money, time, and effort on their programs. |
