A24 Studios makes good flics. It’s weird to see Adam Sandler in a good film trailer (especially after his run of Netflix garbage) but this role is so perfect For him. A recent NPR Fresh Air interview with Safdie Bros talk about how they worked on this film for ten years. Taking Sandler down to the diamond district/ Jewish jeweler district to research role. It shows too.

Well written. Super believable. A bit lengthy, but paced so well you hardly notice. Sandler is legit gambling addict. So much so I felt like I was having a panic attack - the entire movie. Also his ‘I’m gonna keep talking, slimy salesmen, till I get what I want is perfect.

What upsets me most is that even though Disney has ruined my favorite thing; I’m still one Baby Yoda meme away from buying Disney+

I loved Adam's acting; I loved Kevin Garnet

I hated everything Adam's character did and most of what he said.

I hated the plot

I loved the guidos

I hated everything that happened

I really enjoyed the movie

Sandler’s character is such a dirt bag! His wife, kids, employees- everyone is just really disgusted by him. I like how everyone he encounters is like, “hey what about the thing you said you’d do and didn’t. Or the money you owe?” All he cares about is feeding his gambling addiction.

Finger lakes, did the pacing/ events of movie give you anxiety? Cuz like every poor choice Sandler’s character made, made me sweat.

Not me personally, but I brought this up on facebook and someone said her friend cried in the theater from the adrenaline rush! So it seems to be a somewhat common experience.

I already hated him and all his decisions so by the time we got to That Part At The End, I was kinda just waiting for the other shoe to drop. And before that he was getting off on the rush of it all. I DID get VERY PISSED at black guy he worked with for being a shitface tho.

The guy who takes him to PA and then ditches him? I liked that character because it shows how he’s bringing Sandler all this business and he never reciprocates. He asks Sandler why he didn’t push any of his watches so that he can make money too.

It’s not till the end that we find out Sandler had given all the guys watches, (except for two or three) away!

Sandler is a real slimer. So I don’t know if black dude ever really does him dirty. Or did I miss something?

they're both scam artists, Howie was way worse of course. Just for me, that kind of person who promises something and then just doesn't fucking do it and acts like its no big deal really irks my soul (Daddy issues). Sandler is an asshole through and through so none of his promises mean anything. This guy's promise and subsequent jerking around really grinded my gears
