Charlie Sheen Roast
Did anyone see it?
It was funny, but not what I expected. In the end, Sheen seemed... dare I say it... normal. Amy Schumer definitely killed it, although no one knew who she was. And I didn't know that Jesse Joyce was performing... or was that Anthony Jesilnik? Anyway... Thoughts? Mike. |

they're all self serving. the roasters are funny most of the time, but i think its just a ploy to make some shithead look more sympathetic cause they can "laugh at themselves".
Jesse is great at it and Giralso was able to make it golden but i think he could ve made anything funny. |

Watched it, not great. Schumer was the meanest, Jeselneck guy was funnier on the last one. Seemed to be alot of edits, most of the people had really short sets. Macfarlane was funny, so kudos to Jesse, and Patrice O'neil seemed to know what he was doing.
The KATG Roast was just to good, these edited-up Comedy Central roasts with whoever the fuck they can get on the dais is never going to compare. |

The meanness of the roasts combined with the fact that you get random people on the dais (Mike Tyson, really?) is why the CC roasts are usually meh with a few funny highlights (I love Patrice O'Neal).

I really liked it. I usually can't get through the CC roasts and usually only watch clips online, but I watched this entire thing and really enjoyed it.
It seemed like there was only 1 joke that "bombed" that they kept in (something to the tune of Jesselnick calling Patrice a Richard Prior album cover?) and even the "lame" panelists (Jon Lovitz) were funny (especially compared to The Situation during Donald Trump's roast). I think the thing that made it funny was the panelists could say anything because Charlie has been so open about his past himself. He seemed to grimace at the Martin Sheen/Emilio jokes but loosened up as the roast went on. In short, I'd watch it again, and I think Jesse did a great job. |

Jon Lovitz was the "lame" panelist? I think he was suppose to be the gay guy.
Watching these after Jesse's commentary on the show are funny, each roaster has a niche, whether they actually fit it or not. Tyson = violent rapist prison guy Shattner = old guy Steve O = crazy drug-abuser (over-shadowed by Sheen) Patrice = black guy Schumer = whore Lovitz = gay guy Private Practice actress = who the fuck/why the fuck are they here Jeselneck = wanna-be |

I thought it was one of the better ones. The only thing I really didn't like was the stupid bit about steve-o wanting a black eye from tyson. (Tyson was amazing)
If Tyson actually decked Steve O this would be the best roast ever |
